1.4 Million Year Old Fossil of Smurf Discovered Tuesday, January 16, 2007
In an astonishing discovery, a fossil that scientists ascertain to be 1.4 million years
old is thought to belong to a race commonly known as a Smurf. When asked to comment, Doctor
Luden Von Drakenhosen said this, "In my mind, there is no doubt. These are Smurf bones."
The Smurfs disappeared centuries ago, and no one knows for sure why. The most widely accepted
theory is based on evidence that there was only one female in the group, "Smurfette." This
severely limited their breeding capabilities.

No matter what the cause, the fact is no Smurf has been spotted for some time, and even their
fossils are hard to come by. This is a significant discovery for the scientific community.
Many believe that learning more about the Smurfs and how they lived will unlock several of the
mysteries mankind confronts today.
